It all started in 1990 when owner, Mr. Walter M. Yumul, from Victory Norte, Santiago City, noticed his neighbors frequently hanging at a street corner to wait for a bicycle-riding pandesal vendor. This continued for some time on a daily basis, which gave him the idea of putting up his own panaderya that would only sell the proverbial pandesal, ang pambansang tinapay ng mga Pinoy.
Walter is stirred with a desire to his first passion when he observed that no quality bread in the market is price-friendly and masses-affordable. Hence, PAN DE ZAB Basic Bread came to be which he pass on to his son Walter Yumul.Jr. and was named after his grandson. Despite the success of his other businesses for Walter, PAN DE ZAB Basic Bread as his and his wife Luz’s way of giving back (to the masses) through its nutritious, delicious and best of all affordable quality bread.
PAN DE ZAB Basic Bread (in Alicia, Isabela) bakes a wide range of original and well-loved bestsellers like Malunggay Pan de Sal, Buko Roll, Toasted Siopao and Buko Bibingka. PAN DE ZAB Basic Bread now aims to create job opportunities for the masses it also seeks to serve.
In a nutshell, PAN DE ZAB Basic Bread began with a dream inspired by the masses, sustained through the patronage of the masses, and now gives back this love to the masses amongst where it is most appreciated and deserved. Katulad ng unang hinangad ni Walter, ang PAN DE ZAB Basic Bread ay TINAPAY ng MASA; ang PAN DE ZAB Basic Bread ay TINAPAY para sa lahat!
