60 Foreign Brands Eyeing Philippine Franchisees

Around 60 international brands are looking to partner with franchisees in the Philippines, the Philippine Franchising Association (PFA) said.

PFA chairman emeritus Samie Lim said these foreign brands are among the participants in a franchise expo to be held in the country this month.

The event, which will be held from July 16 to 20, will feature at least 9 Korean brands, 12 brands from Indonesia, 12 from Malaysia, 12 US brands, 2 British brands and 2 Hong Kong brands.

Among the international brands expected to participate are Japanese convenience store chain Lawson, Canadian burger joint Triple O, Alfa Mart of Indonesia, Love Dessert and Dessert Factory.

“The Philippines remains as one of the top three franchising sites in the world. We believe that if there should be a place to launch franchise concepts, it should be in events like the Franchise Asia Philippines,” Lim said.

Local and regional brands are also expected to join the expo.

Aside from featuring homegrown and foreign franchise brands, the Franchise Asia Philippines 2014 International Franchise Expo will also host educational seminars and a two-day conference to discuss how business and the franchise sector can prepare for the 2015 ASEAN integration.

The expo will be held at the SMX Convention Center.
