FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What is the difference between a Unit Franchise and Area Franchise
A: As a UNIT Franchisee you operate one TSOKOLATE bakeshop at a fixed location. As an AREA Franchisee you get a territorial area in which you set up a commissary baking production and 4 retail outlets to sell the goods.
Q: Do you limit Tsokolate Bakeshop Unit Franchisee to 1 unit per Franchisee?
A: For each location a separate Franchise Agreement has to be executed and each Franchisee can own up to 2 Unit Franchises.
Q: How does the Area Franchisee have to open the retail outlets?
A: The four retail outlets required have to be opened within two years from signing of the Area Franchise Agreement. The rights to the four retail outlets are included in the Franchise Fee. Should Area Franchisee wish to open additional outlets then he has to pay only a minimal Store opening fee in the amount of Pesos 30,000 for each additional outlet in his territory.
Q: What are the legal differences between a Unit and Area Franchisee?
A: A Unit Franchise Agreement is valid for 6 years and the Area Franchise Agreement is valid 10 years. Both are renewable for the same amount of time without any renewal fee. Royalty is in both cases 3% of gross sales.
Q: Can I remodel an existing structure?
A: Yes. The only requirement is that LINFOOD CORPORATION must approve all remodeling to the specifications of Tsokolate to insure that our requirements and high standards are met.
Q: Is the Franchisee required to purchase all his equipment and supply needs from Tsokolate?
A: As a Tsokolate Bakeshop Franchisee you are required to purchase certain supplies from Franchisor. All other items are to be purchased by approved suppliers of Tsokolate.
Q: What pre-opening services do you offer?
Prior to and upon opening, a representative will assist you with training personnel, ordering inventory, establishing relationships with suppliers and arranging a Grand Opening.
Q: What about Training of Franchisee and Bakers?
A: We require Franchisee and their personnel to complete our training program and demonstrate mastery of certain skills. The cost of training is included in the Franchise Fee. Franchisee, Baker, Supervisor and Head Cashier receive their training in Davao City. Transportation and lodging as well as salaries of Trainees are at the expense of Franchisee.
