Umi Nga Massage Spa is an Ilocano-inspired spa specializing in indigenous type of hilot from the mountain tribes and integrating modern and old methods of massages. Though, it maybe not the first of its kind.
It all started with an idea of a friend who also loved getting a massage. However, since the owners don’t have any background on starting a business especially on spa business, one of the owners enrolled for a Massage Therapy course, got his DOH License and then developed their own types of massage services from modern to traditional to indigenous methods.
Umi Nga Massage Spa is a family owned business but the CEO and Founder is Angelito Diola Uminga. Mr. Uminga’s first course was Physical Therapy, however, due to financial problem he needed to stop. I But instead of not being able to continue his college, He enrolled himself in a different in a Computer Science course which is more affordable. He worked during day-time while studying on the night time.
The name Umi Nga was originated from the owner’s last name “Uminga” which means “sea of clouds” in Japanese which embodied the element of water which represents feelings, intuition and imagination. Our logo mainly describes the ancient natural healing that is done by a person who specializes in healing muscular aches and pains by using massage.
The flagship outlet is located in Alvarado Building, McArthur Highway, Carmen West, Rosales, Pangasinan (just across SM City Rosales) with a branch in Balungao Hilltop Adventure Resort, Balungao, Pangasinan.
