Chapter 363 The Dark Age of Baturu

"I can fold my wings."

Edwina folded her wings, cast a self-created secret spell to shrink her body, and then sat with the three others behind the tree-man's massive trunk.

"How did you do that?"

"In some ancient texts I've read, the relationship between elves and dragons has never been good."

Klein didn't mention that the document he was looking at was an ancient elf cookbook.

"How should I put it..."

Edwina said with a somewhat complicated expression, "According to some information I've gathered, the relationship between elves and dragons has eased. When hunting human extraordinary individuals, they even cooperate to a limited extent, such as exchanging some information."

"Hunting human extraordinary individuals?"

Klein, Anderson, and Danitz were all taken aback.

"You wouldn't mean to say..."

Klein suddenly had a bad feeling.

"It's just like you think. When I tried to understand the history and era here, I was told that it is now the Second Era, also known as the Age of Tranquility. Giants, elves, dragons, demons, and phoenixes are all powerless against each other, and the continents are in a state of balance."

"It was also the age when humanity was enslaved. According to that elf, a god who wanted to protect humanity challenged the elven king but was defeated. The elves were enraged and began to slaughter those extraordinary humans who disobeyed their rule. The dragons also began targeting the ancestral humans who had stolen their power."

A hint of helplessness appeared on Edwina's dragon-like face.

"This...isn't this book Grosser's Travels?"

"Where is the giant Grosser?"

Danitz looked around uneasily, then calmed down when he remembered that he was no longer a human. He was now a fire giant, and with such a large physique, no matter what the elves thought, they wouldn't mistake him for a human, right?

"It's still unclear. Perhaps it's in the golden land of the giants, or perhaps this isn't the book's real title."

Edwina shook her head. She wasn't overly nervous; on the contrary, she was quite happy to have this opportunity to experience the scenery of the Second Era. This would allow her to accumulate more knowledge and see more landscapes. However, she didn't want to involve Klein and the others.

"So how do we leave?"

"According to the known historical trajectory, elves, dragons, giants, and other extraordinary creatures will all withdraw from the center of the historical stage. What special conditions must we meet, or what must we participate in, in order to leave?"

'

Klein guessed.

Since this book is about dragons, and dragons are about the audience, then perhaps they want to be an audience?

"This is an arrest warrant."

Edwina wagged her tail, and a series of semi-transparent wanted posters appeared in front of them.

At the head of the group was an ordinary yet resolute face, and most striking was his name, followed by an introduction.

Hermes, who has slain the Elder Mind Dragon, is dangerous.

"Hermes?"

"One of humanity's earliest masters of mysticism? Captain, you wouldn't happen to be...?"

Danitz was somewhat taken aback as he looked at the wanted posters.

"That's right, just like I am now. I am a dragon, so I received these missions."

"Although it's not mandatory, it's hard to lie in front of the Mind Dragon."

Edwina explained that she chose the job of gathering intelligence and information precisely because she didn't want to deal with these early humans who tested drugs on themselves and laid the foundation for modern occultism. On the other hand, she herself also needed more information.

Are there racial missions?

What about us?

Klein glanced at the two fire giants beside him. "What about your racial quests? Where are my races? Where can I find other demon wolves?"

"What if we turned the tables and helped humans kill dragons and elves?"

"We just tried it, and at least the treants can be killed."

Anderson coughed lightly. As a specially admitted student who had received a partial orthodox education at the Church of Knowledge and Wisdom, his stance was still very clear.

"It's best not to."

"I also considered this possibility, and then I almost turned back into a human from a dragon."

Edwina was still somewhat shaken as she spoke, thankfully there were no other dragons nearby, otherwise she might have been in serious trouble.

"Isn't that a bit of an exaggeration?"

Anderson smiled, then noticed that Klein and Danitz were looking at him with strange expressions. The fire giant skin on his body was half solid and half ethereal, and the power enhancement from the skin had disappeared. The smile of the number one bounty hunter at sea froze.

Klein's eye twitched slightly. This actually allowed you to choose a faction, and different factions even had bonuses.

Judging from the current situation, this is indeed a relic of a dragon, and choosing a human probably won't provide any positive bonuses.

"So this area is under your jurisdiction?"

Klein raised his hand and asked, his arms naturally crossed at his sides. If it weren't for the crowd, Klein would have loved to try punching with six arms.

"No, this place is near the border between the dragon and elf territories, so you might accidentally run into patrolling dragons or elves. I can take you to my lair, where you won't be disturbed easily."

Edwina flapped her wings and flew away; it wasn't far from her nest.

The captain's little nest?

Danitz perked up and, without a word, dragged Anderson back into the tree's body.

If this weren't a Treeman, or a Mystic, it would have been ruined by you guys long ago. Klein also returned to the Treeman's body, manipulating it with some heartache. This was his first Mystic, and it was quite useful in certain specific ways.

Edwina flew slowly, with the treants below following her like her retinue. They soon arrived at a stone wall with a huge opening in it.

Edwina invited the group in. The room was very simple. Apart from some sheepskin scrolls that were carefully placed, the place on the floor that could barely be called a bed was covered with a thick layer of weeds. However, there were storage spaces cut out of the walls, on which were placed some spices from the elves wrapped in lotus leaves.

Is the situation on the human side very dire?

Klein didn't sit down, but asked directly.

Even though this is fictional, what if the different factions in this book are actually more balanced?

"It's terrible; at least for now, very few human extraordinary beings dare to act directly."

"If we turn back into humans, we might encounter demigods."

Edwina became more serious. In a continent dominated by dragons and other supernatural creatures, turning back into a human was almost like turning back into food. Even dire wolves and fire giants weren't that safe, though it was slightly better than being human.

"A demigod...isn't Hermes from the human side also a demigod?"

"This world in the book certainly can't replicate a very powerful dragon or elf, right?"

Klein still felt that the human side wasn't so bad.
